The Cold Chai™ started with a family legacy and a modern reset. My great-grandfather ran a chai business in Gujarat, India, where chai is not a “flavor.” It is a craft built on tea, spice, and intention, passed hand to hand. Years later, I was in the world I’d chased for years: fast careers, nice buildings, big goals, and the constant pressure underneath it all. My parents immigrated from Gujarat and I grew up with sacrifice in the background, so I learned early that excellence was the price of admission. Even with the Bay Bridge outside my window, something felt unfinished. Then the layoff hit. Brutal and sudden. The kind that makes you realize you are always one bad quarter away. So I left and disappeared for a month through London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Barcelona during Christmas 2023. AirPods in, Apple Notes open, walking for hours, watching culture move in real time, and finally asking what I actually wanted to build.

I kept coming back to chai, not as nostalgia, but as a future. A drink that has been global for centuries, somehow still without a modern category leader. In the U.S., “chai” often means syrup and shortcuts. The ritual got lost. The Cold Chai is our answer. A canned, ready to drink chai built with real tea and real spice extracts. Clean, bold, and designed for the way people actually live now. Start the morning with it. Split one with old friends.
